In the initial course we teach the basic theories and practices in fiber optics. The curriculum is customized to technicians, who must install an optical network with a following documentation according to specific requirements.
The main points are:
- Insight into fiber optics
- Attenuation and reflection
Basic introduction to optical instruments:
- OTDR
- Power meter, OLTS
- Fusion splicers
We conclude with practical training:
- Handling of cables
- Handling of fibers
- Splice of singlemode and multimode fibers in ODF
- Finding attenuation compared to estimates
Each course is a two-day seminar, concluded with a written exam.
